NewWhat makes it fast
What the Featherweight does differently
Dual density FeatherFoam
An ATPU blend with a supercritical insole. Bouncy, light and propulsive under a 45mm heel, built for tempo days and quicker daily miles.
Helix nylon plate
An internal nylon stability plate for a smooth, fast roll through. Nylon, not carbon: this is a trainer you can run in every day, not a race day shoe.
High stack, familiar drop
45mm at the heel, 35mm at the forefoot, the same 10mm drop as the Ascent. More energy return without changing how you run.
The Ascent's toe box
The same naturally shaped toe box on a standard D width. If you own an Ascent, the front of this shoe fits the same, which is why it is the rotation pair.
A trainer, not a race shoe. Nylon, not carbon. Toe room, not barefoot. If you run in the Ascent, the front of this shoe fits the same.

What is the Veloci Featherweight?
The Featherweight is Veloci's super trainer: a high stack, lightweight trainer with dual density ATPU FeatherFoam, an internal Helix nylon plate, and the same naturally shaped toe box and 10mm drop as the Ascent. It is built for tempo runs, workouts and daily miles at a quicker pace, and for long runs when you want more energy return.
The plate is nylon, not carbon, and the shoe is a trainer, not a race day shoe. It is the rotation pair for an Ascent owner: the same fit at the front, lighter and bouncier underfoot. It is not a barefoot shoe and not a wide shoe.
Road Trail Run scored it 9.7 out of 10 and Believe in the Run wrote that "this shoe fits me like a glove."
The current version and its specs are below. Free shipping, free 30 day returns and exchanges on an unworn pair. If you are choosing between it and the Ascent, start with the Ascent page and how the toe box should fit.

Featherweight questions, answered
No. It has an internal Helix nylon plate, a stability plate that gives a smooth, fast roll through. It is not a propulsion plate and this is not a race day shoe.
A super trainer: light and bouncy enough for tempo runs and workouts, cushioned and durable enough for daily miles. Most owners run it two or three days a week alongside an Ascent or Mesa.
The Ascent, unless most of your running is at tempo pace. The Featherweight is the rotation pair for an Ascent owner: same fit at the front, lighter and bouncier underfoot.
The toe box is the same shape and the width is the same standard D. Order your Ascent size, or your usual running shoe size, and size up if you are between sizes.
Neither. It is a standard D width with a naturally shaped toe box, a 45mm stack and a 10mm drop. Toe room, not a barefoot shoe.
Yes. Every pair ships free within the United States, and returns and exchanges are free for 30 days from delivery on unworn pairs returned in the original box.
