What is underneath
How the Mesa supports the foot
Wingwall plate
An ESS plate inserted into the foam runs from the medial arch back to the heel. It supports the foot from the inside edge and sits exactly where a foot that rolls inward compresses the foam first.
Hidden midfoot underlay
A microfiber underlay on the inner side of the midfoot cradles the foot. Support you feel and never see.
Structured heel cup
A firm heel cup holds the ankle in place for a confident push off, without a hard wedge under the arch.
Same last as the Ascent
Same naturally shaped toe box, same standard D width, same 10mm drop, same size. An exchange between the two changes the midsole, not the fit.
Stability shoe. Room for your toes. Those used to be opposites. Same 10mm drop and same shaped toe box as the Ascent, so there is nothing to relearn.
The shoe
What is the Veloci Mesa?
The Mesa is Veloci's stability daily trainer. It is built on the same last as the Ascent, so it has the same naturally shaped toe box, the same standard D width, the same 10mm drop and the same fit, and it adds the Wingwall Stability System: an ESS plate under the arch and heel, a hidden underlay on the inner side of the midfoot and a structured heel cup. Stability shoe. Room for your toes. Those used to be opposites.
A stability shoe supports the foot from rolling inward further than it needs to after it lands. The Mesa does that with moderate support, not a hard wedge, so a runner with a neutral stride can wear it and mostly notice a more planted feel on the inside edge. It is not a barefoot shoe and not a wide shoe. The room is in the shape of the front, not the width of the whole shoe.
Pick the Mesa if you have seen your foot roll inward, a fitter has told you it does, or you already run in a stability shoe from another brand and like what it does for you. Because the fit matches the Ascent, your size is the same in both, and an exchange between them changes the midsole, not the fit.

Mesa questions, answered
Only if your foot keeps rolling inward after it lands. Everyone pronates a little; a stability shoe is for the runner who does more of it than they would like. Look at the inside edge of your current shoes: a crushed midsole along the inner heel and arch usually means yes. If a fitter has watched you run, trust what they said. If you are not sure, start with the Ascent.
An ESS plate inserted into the foam that runs from the medial arch to the heel, a hidden microfiber underlay on the inner side of the midfoot, and a structured heel cup. Together they support the foot from rolling inward further than it needs to, with moderate support rather than a hard wedge.
No. The Mesa is a standard D width with a naturally shaped toe box. The room is in the shape of the front of the shoe, not the width of the whole shoe. If you need a true 2E, we are not it.
Yes. The two are built on the exact same last, so your Ascent size is your Mesa size. New to Veloci? Order your usual running shoe size, and size up if you are between sizes.
Yes. The support is moderate, so a runner with a neutral stride mostly notices a more planted feel on the inside edge, and some prefer that on long easy days. The Ascent is still the default if you have never felt your foot roll.
Yes. Every pair ships free within the United States, and returns and exchanges are free for 30 days from delivery on unworn pairs returned in the original box.
